Bot Watch - Recently-Detected Web Spiders & Bots
We've detected two previously unobserved bots on our websites recently.
CFNetwork/1.1 -- This bot provides no identification. We could find little info about it, although it does appear in the logs of numerous websites. The only reference we did find associates it with denial of service (DoS) attacks. The bot arrived using IP 126.96.36.199, which appears to be part of an IP block owned by America Online (AOL). It was first observed on 22 Oct 2005 and has revisited today, each time accessing only one interior web page. We have blocked this bot.
Shim Crawler -- This bot likewise provides no identification, but a notepet identifies it as originating from the Chikayama-Taura Lab at the University of Tokyo. This bot may be experimental or a student project. It was first observed on 23 Oct 2005 and accessed only one interior web page. We have tentatively identified it as experimental and are allowing it at present pending further review.

Welcome to the Ten Spider Business Blog
Welcome to the debut of the Ten Spider Business Blog! The blog is managed by Ten Spider Enterprises, an information metasite for business, career, finance, security and consumer protection, technology and science, travel, pets and lifestyle resources. This blog is an adjunct to the Ten Spider Business Center. We also host the Ten Spider Blog, which is our sitewide blog. Following a site split which established the Business Center as an independent entity, I thought it might be a good idea to create a separate blog to service it, so ... here it is!
If you have business topics you would like to hear about, please let us know. If you feel you have some insight or knowledge to contribute to others regarding the world of business, I encourage you to register and express your views. If your contribution is pertinent and substantial, you may even get your own page in our Business Center!
