WARNING!
The internet abounds with opportunity!
Most businesses are legitimate. Unfortunately for all of us, some have chosen opportunities that push the
legal envelope or are out-and-out
scams. The affiliate programs we showcase on the
following page
are all legitimate, thriving businesses. We sincerely hope you will join one or more of these programs.
At the least, protect yourself from questionable programs by doing the following:
- Avoid get rich
quick websites; they are designed to make their owners get rich quick, and are likely to
just as quickly disappear.
- Avoid sites that
push a single product. We are not referring to theme or content sites
that have gone to great lengths to provide information and/or resources relating to a single
subject. Sites to avoid are those that have one focus and little content.
- Avoid single-page
sites that pitch a vaguely-described product and encourage you to provide them with your
email address.
- Avoid any site that
doesn’t tell you what it is they are doing but want you to take it on faith that it
will make you money — especially if the word “guaranteed” is involved.
- Avoid sites that claim,
This deal won’t last long! They’re right; it won’t. They’ll be
gone, probably with some of your hard-earned cash.
- Be extremely careful
with regard to business offers of any sort that require you to invest money up front;
the more money involved, the more careful you should be. Check references with organizations such as
the Better Business Bureau.
